Description:The programme for the Tribute to Canadian Cinema, initially gives information on the development of film production since 1964, when Canadian films began to make their impressive entrance on the scene, first under the category of Ciné-Vérité and then of realism. Then it describes the frictions between the cinema workers and filmmakers of Québec and the national film agencies – largely concerning the question of censorship and, by extension, independence. Afterwards it discusses the subjects of nationalism, Indians and other social issues – all of which concerned the Québec cinematographer. Finally, it lists the programme of films to be shown by the Film Archives in cooperation with the Film Archives of Québec.
